Brazilian cotton growers join BCI

The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Brazilian Cotton Growers Association (ABRAPA/ABR), now meaning that ABR cotton can be licensed and sold as Better Cotton. Denilson Galbero, sustainability manager, Brazilian Cotton Growers Association (Associação Brasileira dos Produtores de Algodão) spoke to Ecotextile News about the new collaboration.

Chemical testing conducted by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is still ongoing, after more than 166,000 textile products were pulled from shelves for containing potentially hazardous levels of azo dyes.
