DHAKA - Automation has already replaced 31% of garment workers in Bangladesh, according to a new study by Solidaridad Network Asia, the Bangladesh Labour Foundation and the country's BRAC University.

Unskilled 'helpers' were the most likely to have been replaced by machines, according to the report entitled 'Assessment of Technological Transition in the Apparel Sector of Bangladesh and Its Impact on Workers'.
