ARKANSAS - US retail giant Wal-Mart has confirmed it is likely to miss its previously announced 2025 and 2030 interim climate targets.
Writing in its latest ESG update, Walmart said that while it was continuing to work towards its “aspirational goal” of zero emissions by 2040, progress would not be linear, and that its trajectory and challenges related to energy policy, infrastructure and the availability of cost-effective low-carbon technologies would likely delay achievement of its interim 2025 and 2030 targets.
