SAC to expand Materials Sustainability Index
 
Textile material suppliers will now be able to submit apparel, footwear and home textiles material data into the Higg Index's Materials Sustainability Index (MSI), after the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) launched the MSI Contributor in a move aimed at expanding data around materials sustainability to inform design, development and sourcing decisions for SAC members.

Greenpeace Detox slams Patagonia and Mammut
 
Greenpeace has released the results of air tests in the stores of outdoor brands, Mammut, The North Face, Norrona and Haglöfs which claim to show that concentrations of volatile PFCs "are up to 60 times higher in these stores than in an average enclosed room, and up to 1,000 times higher than in outside air."

The European Greenpeace has used its latest Detox 'Catwalk' to launch a strongly worded critique of the work of the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) group, claiming the ZDHC's list of chemicals is "inadequate," while also repeatedly describing the ZDHC's chemical elimination system as "flawed".
