OSLO - A consortium made up of academic researchers, industry and authorities from across Northern Europe, has come together to jointly develop algae-based products that could have potential applications in the textile sector while also helping treat the industry’s wastewater streams.

The project has been prompted by fears over the state of the Baltic Sea which, regarded as one of the world's most polluted and exploited bodies of water, has reportedly seen almost no improvement in water quality between 2016 and 2021.
