LUDWIGSHAFEN - BASF has had several of its textile sector, chemical intermediates verified by climate change NGO and product carbon footprint verifier, the Carbon Trust.
The Carbon Trust, which advises businesses and governments on sustainable opportunities, and certifies organisations that measure, manage and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, water and waste, has confirmed that BASF’s key polyester building block, neopentyl glycol (NPG), and 1,6-hexanediol (HDO), which has applications in textile coatings and adhesives, have both achieved its PCF label and met its ‘lower than market’ claim.
