 A Spanish sustainable apparel business is set to begin spinning yarn from polymers derived from plastic bottles which have been collected alongside the catch of almost 200 Spanish fishing boats in the Mediterranean Sea.

Greenpeace to launch new PFC report
 Greenpeace is launching a new report on the existence of perfluorinated and polyfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) in sports and outdoor wear at the upcoming ISPO trade show in Munich. Exhibiting at ISPO for the first time, this will be the NGO's third report on outdoor apparel – detailing the environmental fate of PFCs used in high performance clothing as well as outdoor equipment such as tents, sleeping bags and backpacks.

Tests find hazardous chemicals in kids fur clothing

Dutch animal rights organisation, Bont voor Dieren, claims to have found unsafe levels of potentially carcinogenic chemicals in fur-trimmed children's clothing sold by several brands, including Canada Goose, Nickelson, Airforce and Woolrich.

 The challenge faced by Indian authorities in seeking to clean up its polluting textile industry have been brought into sharp focus with news that the country's Textile Ministry has written to India's Environment Ministry suggesting proposed new liquid discharge standards for textile units are too stringent and will lead to mill closures.
