PARIS - The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has published a research paper calling for the faster adoption of extended producer responsibility (EPR) policies as a means to embedding circular economy principles in the garment manufacturing sector.

The report, ‘Extended producer responsibility in the garments sector’, warns that whilst the EPR approach has been an integral policy approach in many product sectors, most national governments have not yet widely adopted the schemes for their respective  garment industries. Only France and the Netherlands, it says, have national EPR schemes in operation.
