HONG KONG - The preliminary findings of a KPMG survey of shoppers in five key global cities, which was unveiled at the recent Hong Kong Fashion Summit finds conflicting ideologies of what 'sustainable fashion' actually means.
Unveiling the report findings in Hong Kong, Pat Nie Woo, partner, KPMG Hong Kong, noted: “most people in the west defined sustainable fashion using words like ‘durability’ and ‘quality’, however, in Asia most respondents focused on the environmental side of sourcing, using words like ‘biodegradability’ and spoke about ‘hazardous chemicals’.”
