Sweden to sue EC on endocrine disruptors
The Swedish government has initiated legal action against the European Commission in a bid to speed up legislation that could outlaw the sale and import of consumer products – such as textiles – that have trace amounts of chemicals known as endocrine disruptors.

Unifi boosts recycled polyester production
After US yarn producer Unifi reported recent market growth in the Americas region (see this month’s printed issue), the company has expanded its Repreve Recycling Center capacity from 42 million pounds per annum to 72 million pounds of yarn per year as it looks to grow its speciality offering of synthetic yarns and moves away from commodity polyester.

VF Corp is to disclose the names and locations of the 91 supplier factories it uses in Bangladesh in a move which could be a pre-cursor to the North American clothing giant disclosing details of all 2,000 factories it uses globally.

Home Textiles Sourcing Expo aims to provide manufacturers, retailers and designers with a one-stop venue for sourcing, with fabric and finished products will include wall and window coverings, bed, bath, tabletop and floor coverings, pillows and kitchen and outdoor textiles.
