Better Cotton approves €9 million spending
The Better Cotton Fast Track Program, whose committee includes Ikea, H&M, VF Corp and Marks and Spencer, has announced that this year 50 Better Cotton projects, reaching approximately 750,000 farmers, will work to produce nearly one million tons of Better Cotton, with project spending for the year approved for almost €10 million.

Planet Textiles 2015 date announced
Sustainable textile conference Planet Textiles, which aims to raise awareness of the environmental and social impacts of the global clothing and textile supply chain, will return to Shanghai next year on 19 March 2015 at a new venue alongside the giant Intertextile Apparel Fabrics event on 19 March 2015.

Garment factory safety equipment taxed
Apparel, footwear and retail groups from the United States and Canada have written to the Bangladesh prime minister urging his government to act upon an announcement of support for the elimination of duties paid on Bangladesh imports of fire and building safety equipment, which the associations say would accelerate efforts to improve garment worker safety in Bangladesh.
