BIRMINGHAM – Microplastics and PFAS, also known as forever chemicals, become more harmful to the environment when combined, new research suggests.

The study, carried out by researchers at the University of Birmingham used Daphnia, commonly known as water fleas, to determine impact of water pollution and found that PFAS and microplastics together caused more severe toxic effects than each chemical alone.
