LUDWIGSHAFEN - Textile chemical giant BASF has partnered with Hong Kong-based footwear brand Mount to Coast on the production of its first running shoe midsole based on a biopolymer made from renewable feedstock.

The CircleCell midsole, which is based on BASF’s new biopolymer, Ecoflex biomass-balanced (BMB), is said to be 90% more durable while showing the same energy rebound as midsoles made of traditional raw materials such as polyether block amide (PEBA).
