VIENNA – Dye solution innovator Vienna Textile Lab has teamed up with the innovation arms of fashion companies Kering and Albini to advance the development of ‘sustainable’ dyeing methods.
Vienna Textile Lab claims to produce organic colours from naturally occurring bacteria to offer market alternatives to chemical formulations.
“The renaissance of biodegradable, nontoxic and natural dyes has come as we see a growing number of sustainable fashion brands and consumer sentiment impacting the sector. We see ourselves as an enabler for all these different sustainability goals,” noted the Austrian firm’s CEO and founder, Karin Fleck.
