TOKYO - Japanese textile manufacturer Toray Industries has struck a deal with Thai petrochemicals manufacturer PTT Global Chemical (GC) to explore mass production technology for adipic acid, a key ingredient in the production of nylon 6,6, from non-edible biomass.
Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding, Toray and GC will jointly evaluate the feasibility of mass production technology and commercialisation in Thailand and Japan.
