WASHINGTON - Earlier this month, a seemingly ordinary press release from the International Cotton Advisory Committee caught the eagle eye of Ecotextile News, which told of how cotton farmers were unable to capitalise on the strong demand for cotton due to environmental stresses and water availability.
We caught up with Dr Keshav Kranthi, the Head of ICACs Technical Information Section to understand the reasoning behind the statement, and how these limits on cotton yield could be addressed.
