PARIS – Luxury fashion firm Kering, the owner of brands such as Gucci, Alexander McQueen and Yves Saint Laurent, says that its entire group will become carbon neutral across the supply chain.

The company says that it will offset its 2018 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and believes the various commitments it has made over recent years, including the approval of its science based targets and the role it is set to assume in the Fashion Pact, gives it a good grounding as it works to reduce its environmental impact.

“When it comes to climate change, we can no longer wait to take real action,” Kering CEO, François-Henri Pinault, said. “We all need to step up as businesses and account for the GHG emissions that we generate in total. While we focus on avoiding and reducing our GHG emissions to meet our science based target, we will offset all our remaining emissions and support the conservation of vital forests and biodiversity around the world.”
