DHAKA - Campaigners are hoping that North American brands can be persuaded to join their European counterparts in signing up to a new legally-binding agreement on garment worker safety in Bangladesh.
Leading fashion companies - including H&M, Zara owner Inditex, C&A and Bestseller - have already confirmed their backing for the new International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry.
It includes a two year extension to the legally-binding agreement behind the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh which expires at the end of this month.
