Exclusive interview with Sajid Hussain, chief operating officer, Tamilnadu Water Investment Co., Ltd, India, who was heavily involved in the zero liquid discharge (ZLD) project which involved the textile manufacturing industry in Tirupur. He notes that the ZLD project found that with efficient recovery of water and salt in the dyeing process, almost 50 per cent of the ZLD operating cost can be recovered.
