BRUSSELS - The proposed legislation on new rules to ban greenwashing and improve consumer information on product durability, a move that could have a significant impact on the textile and clothing sector’s labelling and marketing practices, has cleared a further hurdle with the European Parliament's Internal Market and Environment committees outlining their proposals.
Amongst the practices facing a ban are generic environmental claims and other misleading marketing tricks, as well as commercial communications about goods that contain a design feature introduced to limit product durability.
