LONDON - The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has appointed David Kennedy, the founding chief executive of the UK’s Committee on Climate Change (CCC), as its new CEO replacing Luiz Amaral who stood down last summer.
SBTi's chief legal officer, Susan Jenny Ehr, has been serving as interim CEO since the departure of Amaral who was at the heart of controversial proposals to expand the use of carbon credits to offset CO2 emissions.
