NEW YORK - Denim industry non-profit, the Transformers Foundation has put forward proposals to address the problem of what it calls a “worrying disconnect” between the fashion industry’s pursuit of science-based targets and feasibility and equity in garment supply chains.
The report, “Towards A Collective Approach: Rethinking Fashion’s Doomed Climate Strategy”, contains a number of opinions including concerns that the requirement on all suppliers to set science-based targets is flawed, as they ignore context, feasibility, and equity.
