BEIJING - Brands and retailers need to redouble their efforts to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in their global supply chains if they are to meet the targets of the 2015 Paris Agreement, according to a new report.
The 2019 Supply Chain Climate Action SCTI Evaluation report was released by the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) in China and the CDP non-profit which works to reduce GHG emissions.
The CDP says that companies' global supply chain emissions are on average 5.5 times greater than their direct emissions and indirect emissions from energy consumption combined.
