SAN FRANCISCO – New Zealand-American footwear brand Allbirds has made its own carbon calculating tool open-source for the fashion industry.
The registered B Corp said “sharing proprietary information might not make the most business sense. But the global climate crisis is bigger than business. And if competition got us into this mess, perhaps collaboration can get us out”.
It has sent an email to contacts at brands such as Adidas, Burberry, Levi’s, H&M and Gucci to alert them that they too can now drive down emissions within their supply chain using the tool.
