OTTAWA - Fashion brands Hugo Boss and Diesel, as well as retail giant Walmart, are the latest companies to find themselves under invesigation in Canada for alleged supply chain links to forced labour in the Xinjiang region of China.
Sheri Meyerhoffer, the Canadian Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise (CORE), says none of the three companies has done enough to prove that the products they sell in Canada are free from forced labour.
Her investigations into the companies follows similar probes launched into fashion brand Ralph Lauren and sportswear giant Nike following complaints by a coalition of civil society organisations.
