LEEDS - Fashion brands with long-term commitments to ethical trading practices with their suppliers tended to be more resilient to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to new research.
The study, entitled 'Impact of COVID-19 on Indian fashion supply chains', was funded and published by the Modern Slavery and Human Rights Policy and Evidence Centre (Modern Slavery PEC).
It found that where brands and their suppliers had stronger existing relationships, there was a sense of empathy which improved their relationships and ability to address challenges during the pandemic.
