TOKYO - Uniqlo owner Fast Retailing Ltd has become the latest fashion company to sign The Microfibre Consortium's (TMC) new 2030 commitment and roadmap to minimise the impact of microfibres on the environment.
The Microfibre 2030 commitment was launched last week by TMC, a non-profit, international cross-industry group working to address the problem of fibre fragmentation from clothing textiles.
The research-led NGO – which counts the likes of H&M, Helly Hansen, Finisterre and Birla Cellulose amongst its initial signatories – hopes to rally more than 200 companies and organisations by the end of the decade.
