DHAKA - Global unions and international fashion brands have come to a last minute deal to extend the legally-binding agreement behind the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh for another three months.
Leading brands, including H&M, Inditex and Next, confirmed they have signed up to the extended agreement which is intended to allow negotations to continue on a longer lasting solution.
The agreement, which was due to expire on 31st May, makes European brands legally responsible for garment worker safety in the factories that make their clothes in Bangladesh.
