AMSTERDAM – The Organic Cotton Accelerator has joined forces with the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles, in a venture that will promote the creation of fair and transparent supply chains from organic cotton farmers to consumers.
Objectives of the collaboration include increasing awareness between brands, retailers and farmers on practical solutions to improve the availability of organic cotton, and both sharing resources and developing tools that can coax the best out of such relations.
Jürgen Janssen, Head of the Partnership Secretariat, says: “Building more and stronger links between supply and demand plays an important role in this endeavour as this will reduce risk at farm level thus enabling more small-scale farmers to convert their production to organic and sell their produce at a premium.”
