LOS ANGELES - Organic cotton product producer Gallant International and its factory suppliers are claiming credit for what they describe as one of the world's largest regenerative organic cotton projects.
They worked with Chetna Organic, one of India's most prominent organic cotton co-ops, to transition more than 700 farmers to growing regenerative organic cotton on a total of more than 3,500 acres of land.
The project has now been Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) - which prioritises soil health, animal welfare and social fairness - which Gallant and its partners hope will spark a transformation in how organic cotton is farmed across India.
