LUDWIGSHAFEN – Global chemicals company BASF has developed a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) tool that it’s begun applying to its portfolio of more than 45,000 products, as to detail their associated greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
With a deadline of Q4 2021, BASF will be able to charter the cradle-to-gate and cradle-to-grave lifecycles of its products to determine where it could stand to register improvements.
“Climate protection issues are becoming increasingly important for our customers. In the future, we will be able to support them with reliable data so that they can achieve their climate targets,” said Christoph Jakel head of corporate sustainability.
