LUDWIGSHAFEN - A wide-ranging industry collaboration led by retail group Inditex and chemical giant BASF has resulted in a new nylon fibre which is produced entirely from textile waste.
Branded as Loopamid, the nylon 6 fibre has been used by Inditex’s Zara brand for the production of a new jacket, which the partners claim signals a “breakthrough in efforts for boosting recyclability in the textile industry”.
