VENTURA - US outdoor apparel brand Patagonia has linked up with online sports specialist Surfdome to trial the removal of plastic polybags from clothes orders.
The two companies recently completed a three month trial, called Plastic Cutback, to remove polybags without compromising product quality or generating an increase in emissions.
An estimated 180 billion polybags are produced each year globally, but due to the material's low value, 90 per cent end up in landfill or escape into ecosystems.
