VENTURA – Outdoor brand Patagonia has called on the apparel industry to change its mindset around recycled materials, rather than simply moving away from using high quantities of petroleum-based, virgin fibres.
The US-based firm has recently announced increases to the quantities of recycled content in its garments and the number of products which contain recycled materials. This, the company says, keeps material out of landfill and lowers the demand for petroleum-based virgin fibres.
