MELBOURNE – Oxfam Australia has claimed that some of the country’s biggest fashion brands are underpaying female garment workers in their supply chains despite making huge profits.

Oxfam says that Kmart Group, Big W, Cotton On, Rip Curl and Kathmandu owner KMD, Myer, and Bonds parents company Hanes made over AU$ 1 billion (US$ 648m) in 2022-23 yet women in their supply chains earn less than the living wage.
