SACRAMENTO - California’s Responsible Textile Recovery Act has been signed into law, marking a significant step forward in the state’s efforts to combat waste from the fashion and textile industry.

The landmark bill will accelerate the implementation of an extended producer responsibility (EPR) framework and will require producers to implement and fund a programme to facilitate the reuse, repair, and recycling of clothing and textile fibres in the US state.
