ANKARA - Turkey has slashed its 'de minimis' exemption and increased import duties in a move apparently aimed at helping local online retailers compete with Chinese-owned rivals such as Shein and Temu.

President Erdoğan issued a decree cutting de minimis - the minimum value at which a country applies customs duty and tax rates to imported products - from €150 ($164) to €30 ($33).
