LONDON - Around 236 million carbon credits linked to renewable energy are of insufficient quality to meet the requirements of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market's (ICVCM) new high integrity labelling initiative.
The ICVCM says the credits, which make up nearly a third (32%) of the voluntary carbon market, will not be able to access its Core Carbon Principles (CCP) label which aims to quantify the emission benefits of projects.
