CLERMONT-FERRAND - Biotech firm Carbios has struck a deal with French waste management specialist Nouvelles Fibres Textiles for the latter to supply polyester-based raw materials to its new PET biorecycling plant.

Currently under construction, Carbios is building the world’s first PET biorecycling plant at Longlaville in the Grand-Est Region of France, which will use the company’s propriety depolymerisation technology for the processing of textile waste. Commissioning is expected in early 2025.
