WASHINGTON – The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the addition of 26 China-based textile companies to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List.
With goods produced by the newly listed firms now restricted from entering the US, the DHS said it was taking the steps as part of its commitment to eliminate the use of forced labour in the US supply chain, as well as promoting accountability for the ongoing crimes against humanity against Uyghurs and other minority groups in the Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region.
