SAN FRANCISCO – Cascale, formerly known as the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, has named Colin Browne as its new chief executive officer.
Browne, who served as interim CEO of Under Armour, and who has held senior sourcing roles at VF Corporation, Li & Fung, and Pentland Brands was most recently a board director at Hanesbrands, but crucially, he also has extensive experience within the manufacturing supply chain.
“I can speak the language of how to run factories and have probably spent around 25% of my career on the factory floor,” he told Ecotextile News in an interview before his appointment. “But I’ve also spent a lot of my life leading these supply chains and also leading large (apparel) businesses,” he noted, saying his proven ability to operate across the whole textile supply chain will mean Cascale can more effectively scale its supplier-focused initiatives.
