SAN FRANCISCO – The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), an industry association representing the apparel, footwear and textile industry, has outlined a new strategic plan which sets time-bound targets on climate change, workers’ rights, transparency and inclusivity.
The association has published the details in a new ‘Decade in Review’ report, which highlights that its “signature achievement” of completing the Higg Index will enable it and its members to accelerate the pace of change on sustainability.
“The SAC has spent 10 years developing the Higg Index for the industry, and now we’re ready to put the tools to use,” said the coalition’s vice president, Jeremy Lardeau.
