WASHINGTON DC - A new US bill to counter the economic influence of China includes more than $14 billion in incentives to accelerate the transition of the fashion and textiles industry to circularity.
The Americas Trade and Investment Act (Americas Act) aims to support textile manufacturing in the US, close the 'de minimis' loophole which enables companies like Chinese-owned Shein to evade forced labour legislation, and also provide incentives for reshoring and onshoring.
