ABU DHABI - The World Trade Organisation (WTO) and world football’s governing body FIFA have reaffirmed their joint commitment to work together to examine how international trade and football can serve as catalysts for economic growth with the launch of a new cotton initiative.
At a special event organised around the recent WTO Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi, the FIFA President Gianni Infantino committed to introducing products from the Cotton-4 (C-4) countries of Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mali to FIFA programmes with the launch of a new brand – ‘Partenariat pour le Coton’ (Cotton Partnership).
