ZURICH - The International Apparel Federation (IAF) and the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) have published a joint manifesto aimed at addressing audit and standard fatigue in the apparel and textile industry.
Launched as part of their Standard Convergence Initiative (SCI) and seen as a key step towards reducing the burden on suppliers and encouraging responsible purchasing practices, the document urges brands and manufacturers to adopt the Social & Labor Convergence Program’s Converged Assessment Framework (CAF) to improve working conditions in the apparel industry, citing it as the most promising road to successfully reducing duplicative social auditing.
