DAVOS – At the recent International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) annual conference, event organisers handed out awards in the categories of sustainability and innovation, and international cooperation for the first time.
Among the recipients were Spanish textile recycler Recover, Austrian fibre manufacturer Lenzing and the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA), which were recognised for their work to advance ‘sustainable’ innovations in the fashion and textile sectors.
Helene Smits, chief sustainability officer at Recover, commented: “We are proud to be honoured with this award by the longstanding International Textile Manufacturers Federation, that provides the global textile industry with such an important platform to discuss and celebrate sustainable innovation.”
