ARLINGTON – The seventh annual Better Buying Purchasing Practices Index has highlighted progress in some industry practices since the COVID-19 pandemic, but has also found stagnation or regression in key areas which risk jeopardising the financial security of suppliers.
Despite reported advancements in payments and price negotiations to more frequently provide manufacturers with a fair deal, a deterioration in sourcing companies’ planning and forecasting since 2021 appears to have heightened concerns around the long-term viability of certain apparel and footwear producers.
