ARLINGTON - Brands and retailers which subscribe to the Better Buying Institute (BBI) have continued to strengthen relationships with their suppliers despite the pandemic, according to the non-profit's latest report.
The BBI's 2021 Garment Industry Scorecard says that fashion companies which had already engaged with the institute when COVID-19 struck continued to improve some areas of their purchasing practices and treatment of suppliers throughout the pandemic.
Early analysis of this year’s ratings shows that, although 63 per cent of suppliers reported order cancellations, brands and retailers subscribed to BBI improved in several areas, particularly 'planning and forecasting'.
