LONDON – Better Cotton, the world’s largest cotton sustainability initiative, has signed the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Sustainability Pledge ahead of the end of year launch of its new traceability programme.
The pledge is a set of policy recommendations, guidelines and standards that enable companies to authenticate their sustainability claims. Its primary aim is to create a ‘community of practice’ to help develop traceability and transparency as ‘key enablers for sustainability and circularity’.
