TIANJIN – Chinese scientists claim to have developed a new nano-coating for textiles that means oil-based stains can be washed off fabrics without using detergents.
It’s reported that this transparent polymer nanofilm does not compromise fabric comfort and reduces the carbon footprint in the wash by more than 50% compared with using detergents, according to a life cycle analysis.
